I really miss it and was hoping maybe they would make SWAT 5 or similar game. I can't recall other multiplayer games where you also arrest your opponents. Everything was perfect and that game was quite unique. It was so cool and quite realistic, for example if you could hit on your arms you wouldn't be very precise with shooting, if you would hit in the legs, you would be limping, if someone would deploy tear gas and you had a gas mask, it wouldn't affect you, but flashbangs would and if you were wearing helmet with anti-flashbang glasses you would be immune to flashbangs but vulnerable to tear gas, also wearing a gas mask was giving you obstructed view. There were clans, one of the famous was suspects heaven. It had few modes like disharming bombs, VIP escort (my favorite), just killing and arresting opposing team and co-op (PVE). So what about SWAT 4 did you like? Was its adherence to police procedure as part of the mechanics? i.e., it's a cop sim in a strong sense of the term. From what I've seen of it, the game does make you follow a generic form of police procedure. I don't know if you can compare SWAT 4 to anything else that's more or less well known. Don't make the mistake I did and not play it til a decade after its release.

It's quite good and plays like a 2015 game, not a 2008 game. I wouldn't be recommending this game if it wasn't any good or if it played like an old game. You usually have to wait a few months to get the Steam version at that price and I finally got it back in late June. However, the Steam version is less frequent to hit that price. It's actually $3.40 at GreenManGaming right now and $3.39($3.05 using F10 10% Off code) at Fanatical for the UPlay version. I'm telling you all this because the game can easily be overlooked. It hits right around $3.39 all the time. It's as tactical as it gets and you earn nice tactical gear in both the campaign and multiplayer(they both carry over). There's also playing through the campaign which is similar to that of Swat 4, this I assure you. You only need 4 people total and there's always at least a few dozen people online. I play it 3-4 times a week with multiple people. And the multiplayer is definitely not dead(as shown above). Sure it's old but it's new if you've hardly played it and it's even more new in 1440p. It turns old graphics into more modern graphics. The graphics hold up in higher resolutions. Vegas 2 is old and plus it's multiplayer is dead.īut as I stated, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in 1440p well above 100 fps on PC is tough to put down. Thx for replies, but as I said I wanted a new game with modern graphics, not the old ones. I am very close to achieving 140+ fps in 1440p. It teaches you the basics of what to actually do in the game to enjoy it. And although I don't play it as often as I'd like, I enjoy it immensely. I know the multiplayer is filled heavily with super elite players so I stick to the single player part of the game. I'm not fully into it but I accept it as an excellent game. It's a shame you're not into Rainbow Six Siege. I rarely play it but from the couple of hours I've put into it, it's a different experience. I surprisingly obtained Tannenberg for literally $2.00 a few months back. All of these games will eventually hit much cheaper prices. These 8 games I added as they may be of interest to you as well.Īnd as always, never pay full price. Payday 2 basically has a similar concept to Swat 3 and Swat 4 only you're in the shoes of the bad guys instead of the good guys and roles are reversed meaning that you're tying people up as hostages instead of tying them up and hauling them off to jail. The one thing going for it on the Xbox One backwards compatible version is that it's a bit more populated. It's rewarding as you rank up and highly addictive if you overlooked it like me. When you play it in 1440p well above 100 fps on PC, it's tough to put down.

However, I totally regret overlooking it. I played very little of it back when I had it on Xbox 360. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is my top recommendation. Maybe there are any games like that? I don't want CS GO and I don't want Rainbow Six Siege, they aren't similar to SWAT 4 and definitely I don't wanna play old games. Any new games out there that are similar to SWAT 4 ? I loved that game and really miss it, but it's too old for today.
